What is it like working at Cato Corporation?
Working at Cato is relaxing and I strive to make the shopping experience enjoyable.
Retail Assistant Manager in Chipley:
Pros: I like that I am able to assist the shopper on a more personal level.
Cons: My least favorite thing about working with Cato is the lack of proper cleaning tools to help keep the store clean.
Sales Associate in Cottonwood:
Pros: I enjoy working with my customers. For the most part they are very nice, thanks me for helping them and have said often they hope I don't leave as the Cato has a tremendous turn over in employees. This is not looking good to our customers. They ask a lot of questions as to why people leave so often.
Cons: There is no encouragement, compliments, raises and most of the time we are either out of cleaning products, no vacuum cleaner (broke a long time ago), no batteries for calculators. We have two registers and need two calculators every night. The walls are dirty, need painting, space under front door allowing all kinds of bugs in the store. Last year we had a snake in the store. Our register system is old having problems often. Our modem very recently went down, could only take cash which upset set our customers a great deal. We did put close aside for them but they still were NOT happy. Hope the new modem has been replaced. It has been over a week without it.

I love that you get to interact with different people. I love that the environment is laid back, however it O could change one thing it would be the pay. The benefits are good if you're full time, pto is great.
