Benedictine Health Systems Reviews
What is it like working at Benedictine Health Systems?
Good place to start.
Social Worker (BSW) in Minneapolis:
Pros: I enjoy making a small difference in the lives of my patients and their families each day. I also have a great relationship with my coworkers and it would be difficult to leave our tight-knit group. I also like that I basically make my own schedule and can structure my day in the way that I want aside from staff meetings.
Cons: Every day is extremely stressful and hectic. I feel as though the work that I am expected to complete is impossible, and I am the type of person that likes to do my best at work and feel that I have finished all of the tasks I am responsible for each day and week. I also feel as though my direct supervisor is lazy and cuts corners with almost everything, which I do not respect. I have a good working relationship with her, but I do not truly respect her or her work ethic. I also feel our administrator is overbearing and overly involved in every department. He is frequently found micro-managing instead of being helpful and supportive to the department heads.
Review of BHC.
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in Duluth:
Pros: I like the patient interaction the most. Knowing that I am helping them mentally and emotionally, as well as physically makes me feel as though I am making a difference in my small part of the world.
Cons: The management doesn't seem to care about the actual workers as much as they advertise. Since most of them have not worked as a nurse/CNA, they have no accurate idea of how things work in reality. Because of this, they sometimes (unknowingly/not on purpose) act as though what they need to get done is more important than patient care.
Great people, great care, poor work-life balance.
Social Worker in Minneapolis:
Pros: I truly enjoy being able to make a positive difference in the lives of my patients every day. My coworkers feel like family and management is fairly receptive to suggestions/criticism. I am proud to work at a facility that provides good care. Geriatrics is a rewarding and interesting field full of precious moments.
Cons: Job descriptions/responsibilities are unclear and unorganized. Every day is stressful, it just varies how much. There is an extreme amount of pressure for everything to go perfectly, which is never possible in the healthcare field. I feel that corners are being cut when it comes to how many employees we need to adequately get the job done without living at the office. I feel defeated before I even walk in on most days. Although management is always willing to listen to suggestions, it seems they are never really implemented. My direct supervisor is extremely nice and I get along with her really well, but I don't feel confident in her ability to adequately provide supervision/feedback/support when I need it. I wish that I could feel confident that my supervisor was knowledgeable about laws, state requirements, and the responsibilities of my job.
Enjoy working for an organization that still works from the heart.
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in Ada:
Pros: I Love my job with BHS management knows what they are doing and are always willing to step in and help out when needed Management is almost all CNA certified as well.
Cons: Its not perfect but its a good job I wish all co-workers were as vested as the other 93% of us
Satisfying.
