American Family Insurance Group Reviews

What is it like working at American Family Insurance Group?

The attempt to create cross communication is there but management seems to struggle with decisive decision making.
Senior UX Designer in Madison:
Pros: - Relatively good work/life balance - Open to hearing suggestions and new ideas - There is potential for the company to become innovative and cutting edge if you are able to get through all of the growing pains that come with it - close-knit but siloed teams
Cons: - management is unable to make decisive decisions - office politics are EXTREMELY prevalent - No one seems to accept their part in a problem, everyone is always finger-pointing (which probably has a lot to do with the office politics part of things) - There is a rush to get things done in an unjustified amount of time
Stability and opportunities to learn.
Senior Software Engineer in Boston:
Pros: At AmFam, there are multiple opportunities to learn new technologies since the company is trying to become an insuretech company. Work/life balance is very good.
Cons: Too much bureaucracy to get things done.
Senior Software Engineer in Boston:
Inclusive leadership, great work/life balance, decent pay, benefits are very good. They give pension besides 401(k). Company is trying to modernize its software engineering area and they're doing it successfully.
