Alnylam Reviews
What is it like working at Alnylam?
It is a good experience.
Associate Scientist in Cambridge:
Pros: The working environment is nice as our colleagues are nice and professional.
Cons: None.
Challenging but interesting.
Senior Research Associate in Cambridge:
Pros: I enjoy the variety of work I have. The people are really smart and eager to help when asked.
Cons: It can feel overwhelming at times. Some times it feels like I'm never catching up.
Under Valued and Under Appreciated.
Executive Assistant in Cambridge:
Pros: Knowing that we are indirectly helping patients
Cons: As an EA you dont get the recognition often due because the role is so broad you're expected to do whatever it takes to get the job done. Others do their job and receive acknowledgement and reward, we o above and beyond and it's just considered part of our job. We get the lowest bonuses when our bosses' bonuses are more than our annual pay. If our bosses don't get their way, we get in trouble. It's all scut work.
Highly Variable.
Business Systems Analyst in Cambridge:
Pros: The culture is generally good; people are generally collaborative, transparent, and really care about creating life-saving products. The benefits are also pretty good, if you care more about that than money in your pocket.
Cons: Professional/career development and opportunities, management style, and job satisfaction vary wildly across the company. People are surprisingly averse to data-driven strategy and decision making outside of science, so operations tends to be retroactive and lack resources and appreciation. From what I have observed, there is a fair amount of politicking and no clear, objective way to get promoted or a higher performance rating. You are better off working here for 1-3 years and moving on.
Dynamic Team Leadership.
Project Manager, (Unspecified Type / General) in Cambridge:
Pros: Autonomy, strong team dynamics, making real change in the world of medicine.
Cons: Growing very fast means it's sometimes hard to keep up with organizational changes.
