AT&T Inc. Reviews

What is it like working at AT&T Inc.?

Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst:
Overall AT&T is a great place to work. They give many opportunities to people to make life better through free education including paid for master degrees from top rated universities like Georgia Tech, UNC A&T, University of Notre Dame and others. You just need to look for opportunities they are everywhere. Health, Life and voluntary Benifits included. Great mentoring programs. Hard work is a must though. Expectations are high and must be met.
Satisfying.
Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician in San Antonio:
Pros: No micro-managing
Cons: No job security
Sales Support Specialist:
Despite the tax break, ATT is off-shoring immensely. Not only that, unlike Verizon, that offered a reasonable severance pig, we did not receive one fm ATT. Instead, they "found" us a job at the same salary doing the same function at IBM but with only a lifespan of one year (for about 95% of us). After fulfilling that one year, about 95% of us will get a lousy one-month severance fm IBM. Terrible and highly unethical.
Rewarding.
Project Manager, (Unspecified Type / General) in Chicago:
Pros: People
Cons: Annual reviews
Simple.
Retail Sales Associate in Round Rock:
Pros: commission and the public interaction
Cons: A major part of my pay depends on someone else
Sales Consultant, Retail in Columbia:
Pros: I love the amount of money I am making and the benefits that AT&T allow me to have. I get to interact with all types of people and learn a little bit about their backgrounds and their travel experience. What I like about AT&T is that it is never the same issue or situation. It is a forever changing environment that keeps me on my toes!
Cons: One thing I do not like about AT&T is that it is extremely micromanaged. On every single interaction with a customer, we are graded and rated on a series of scales. There are about seven different products we sale at AT&T, along with those seven products we also need to make sure we are going over every other customer experience step. Sometimes it can be a lot to remember and sometime even harder to get an angry or rushed customer to listen.
Great place to work.
