YMCA Reviews

What is it like working at YMCA?

Ok.
Personal Trainer in Barrie:
Pros: the clients
Cons: the hours
Fun and exciting but also challenging. A great mix between gardening and teaching.
Gardener in Claryville:
Pros: The people
Cons: Lots of layers. Hard to keep up with all the changes
Fun and exciting but also challenging. A great mix between gardening and teaching.
Gardener in Liberty:
Pros: Health benefits
Cons: It is challenging to move up
Family Environment to Business Tyranny.
Camp Counselor in Houston:
Pros: The friends I've made that have turned into family, the kids I have been able to watch grow up from kids, to teenagers and even high school graduates. The beautiful landscape we are blessed to be able to work on, no other day camp in Houston like ours. the fieldtrips we would take with our age groups that allowed us to bond and grow even closer with our campers.
Cons: The new management style, the favoritism, the glow of "camp magic" has ended, the strict new rules....it doesn't even feel like a camp anymore because they are trying to force so much educational stuff down these kids throats when it is a summer camp.
Okay.
Retail Store Manager in Liverpool:
Pros: Freedom to make devosions
Cons: lack of respect from top management
Fun and exciting.
Gardener in Liberty:
Pros: Sharing Gardening with our guest and students
Cons: Some lack of communication and under appreciated
HR for a Cause.
Human Resources (HR) Director in Lebanon:
Pros: I love the YMCA mission which provides me a filter through which I can make difficult decisions using our Core Values.
Cons: Constantly trying to spin gold out of straw. Non-profit budgets can be very tight.
