Kmart Australia Reviews
What is it like working at Kmart Australia?
P.o.v of Kmart sales assistant.
Retail Sales Assistant in Melbourne:
Pros: I like the other employees that are around my age, they're super inclusive, they love to have a good laugh and chat.
Cons: I barely have any money, and having a job here at Kmart isn't helping it. When you turn 18 your pay is roughly $19 an hour, when you turn 19 your pay is supposed to increase to around $22-$23, I was still getting paid the same amount as an 18 year old for a while. There have been plenty of times where I have been rostered on during the times I said I wasn't available, and the timetables are off. I barely get any shifts, even though I say I'm available from here to then. This is the only job I have, I cannot afford to live off 3-6 hours of working a week (plus I do not study anymore) It's not sustainable. We deserve a pay rise for the long hours of standing and more breaks. A 15 minute break is not enough to relax or rejuvenate in a 5 hour shift of constantly bending up and down, lifting doing all those activities that are a ticket to a broken back. Not to mention, the mental break that we need, especially here in the western suburbs, customers treat you less. They don't care if they've dropped all their clothes on the ground, they'll mess up the store as much as they like, they do not have a care in the world for us workers who are there to help assist them and their needs. Oh and not to mention the countless times I've been underpaid, there were days where I worked 6 hours, and my payslip shows up and only pays me for 3 hours. Down right ridiculous!
I'm trying to look for another job, because Kmart isn't cutting it for me.
Boring and sometimes fun.
Retail Sales Assistant in Melbourne:

I work as a cashier at kmart.
Retail Cashier in Reservoir:
Pros: I like serving customers
Cons: My pay
Draining.
Product Line Manager in Auckland:
Pros: Pay grade
Cons: Bullying Store Managers
Not good, very disrespectful.
Retail Sales Assistant in Melbourne:
Pros: Probably the way you always have a job to do.
Cons: The managers bully everyone and do not listen to employees and does not give shifts regularly and when you threaten hr at kmart boronia the managers cower.
Department Manager, Retail Store:
Very busy not for the lazy. Ongoing pressure. Pay is above pay level for position. Culture is generally good but can be disrupted by poor management. You basically get thrown in the deep end and learn as you go. Training at the start is good but you learn more on the job. My opinion is too much favouritism with Head Office as most managers who bully and cause conflict are not held accountable for their actions. They have meetings with head office but ultimately stay in the buisness.Good Line Managers have left due to bad Store Managers who continually have investigations and disciplinary meetings but are still in the business. Very Sad. However I enjoyed the fast pace. Not good for family life.
Retail Sales Assistant:
Pros: It's extremely casual, I can wear my own clothes to work as a uniform.
Cons: The staff at my one in particular aren't very friendly.
