A complex and engaging experience.

Cons: The occasional MicroManaging
Interesting work.
Operations Analyst in Phoenix:
Pros: You telecommute 3 days a week
Cons: Not being paid as a project manager which I seem to mostly do
Data Analysis to support Sales teams broaden network presence.
Pricing Manager in New York:
Pros: Flexibility, engagement
Cons: Lack of networking opportunities present
Lots of fire drills and politics.
Finance Manager in New York:
Pros: Wide scope of items to work on - fairly interesting levels of impact. You can work on launches that actually materialize.
Cons: Lots of politics, constant firedrills, and the numbers don't really mean anything. Everything is about crafting a "story" for upper management that jives with what they have in their heads
Information Security Analyst in Phoenix:
American Express is a great company to work for.. For most people. If you're in IT, though, it can be frustrating. A lot of important decisions are made with IT as an afterthought to be ironed out on-the-fly to meet business demands. A common saying among IT personnel is "AMEX is not a technology company", emphasizing the subordination of technology concerns over business concerns (often times leading to more expensive solutions being implemented later on). The pay is very good, the benefits are pretty good (20 weeks paid parental leave is nice, medical insurance is mediocre), and the company is super accommodating to maintaining work/life balance.
It has been great so far working for american express the work culture and management is great.
