Pros: (Based on call center side of business.) Overall culture is one of inclusivity and diversity, with several employee resource groups (ERGs) to further support this. The company also has really good benefits with paid holidays/vacation, comprehensive budget health benefits and 401(k) with company matching contributions. Additionally, the company strongly supports employee development through tuition assistance and in-house training programs. A lot of opportunity to try different roles and move up into mid-management positions.
Cons: Lack of job stability is a major issue at the company. For all job types, annual center closures create significant morale issues and constant restructuring of operations (center to national levels) removes incentive to pursue job opportunities internally. While the company does offer to move most employees into other locations or positions, this can add cost for the employee’s standard of living, derail career trajectory, relocate from family or even sometimes reduce salary if having to take a demotion to remain with the company. Additionally, the company has no transparency with wages and focuses on their benefits to compensate for lower than average market base salaries. Initially, this may be a fair compensation but as employees move up in roles, tenure and experience/training, the salary raises or promotion raises fail to sufficiently capture changing value of employees.
