Retail Store Manager Reviews

What is it like working as a Retail Store Manager?

July 2019
Stressful.
Retail Store Manager in Fresno:
Pros: Absolutely nothing.
Cons: No flexibility on how I am allowed to manage my store, or create my schedules. High employee turnover rate, not allowed to compensate competitively or give enough hours to keep employees engaged. Lucky to get even one day a week off as a salaried member of management. Lots of micromanaging. Serious lack of communication with district managers and store management.

Retail Store Manager in Passaic:
Pros: Working with and talking about videogames and related items, helping/building rapport with customers, creating repeat business and trust in the store and employees, free games/hardware/merch from publishers, having a friendly relationship with direct manager.

I absolutely love working for goodwill.
Retail Store Manager in Wilmington:
Pros: The company is always doing what they can to make me a better person, manager and I love everything we are for. We make people’s lives better...we offer so much to the community. Goodwill has saved me more then they even know.
Cons: Honestly there is nothing I dislike about my job. The only thing I wish I could change is the donations. We strive to ensure all donations are processed to be sold to those who are in need, however a numerous amount of times the donations are low quality and can jut be sold.
