Correctional Nursing.
Registered Nurse (RN):
Make sure you have at least 5 years of nursing experience prior to seeking a job in corrections. The inmates are very good at faking symptoms and they will know their rights better than you ever will. Many administrations in prisons are still on the "good old boy" system and the job politics can be brutal. Many prisons do not have adequate staffing of Officers or Nurses. Prisoners are getting more and more violent. I plan to get out of Correctional nursing.

My Career In Nursing.

Pros: Servicing my clients and providing the best quality of life for their current health situation.
Cons: Some of the challenges of working in Long term care are the ratio of client to nurse is so excessive added to the increasingly high acuity levels makes it more and more challenging to provide the best care for all patients.

My Dream Job.
Registered Nurse (RN):
Pros: I love the work environment at Aurora. The administration team do an excellent job of treating everybody fair and with respect. It provides a happy healthy work environment which I can pass down to my patients.
Cons: I feel the pay is low, the hours are not the best and working holidays is disappointing in a clinical setting.
