Receptionist Reviews

What is it like working as a Receptionist?

February 2017
How I find my job as reception.
Receptionist in Johannesburg:
Pros: My colleague's , doing otp's filling emails everything I do I love it.
Cons: I don't like it when the director starts yelling screaming and being rude to me or other staff. The daily amount of phone calls are a bid annoying and the fact that I don't have a lunch time for an half an hour or an hour at least is the the worst. I can just eat quickly and then back to work. I take a few smoking breaks per day and still while I take my smoking break I do my work as well like when the phones ring I drop my cigarette outside get in and answer the phone some days while I am still busy eating I also still answer the phone some days I don't even eat during the day. The thing that makes me most unhappy , irritate and upset mad and stressed out is when I ask something and it is not being done or I have to struggle and wait for days sometimes weeks to receive what I have asked. Another thing is when I need to do and fill an otp I need to fill in all the correct details of the client, vehicle and the amount + I need to work out the vat and if I ask for info and I don't get it.

Routine.
Receptionist in Mission:
Pros: I like that there's routine to when and what day I do certain things. It helps me keep my tasks on track.
Cons: I don't like that because people assume I have the least amount of tasks in the office, they can ask me to help them with their tasks. But when everyone is piling tasks on me, next thing you know, I've got a plate full to do and then everyone assumes I don't time manage properly because I'm not getting what they want done.
