Be cautious of the blame.
Purchasing Specialist:
Purchasers are constantly in a battle between the company owners who want lower stocking levels, and the sales team who want everything on the shelf at all times. Make sure your decisions are backed by sound reason that can be proven later. Ask the company if they have written policies in place regarding orders, returns, inventory discrepancies, shipping/receiving, and how they enforce the policies. A challenging job that is made much easier by using technology to automate a lot of the menial daily tasks.
