Product Designer Reviews
What is it like working as a Product Designer?
April 2021
Excellent work-life balance but under-appreciated digital department.
Product Designer in New York:
Pros: Benefits, manager and fun things to work on. The CEO is super caring and invests a lot of energy in culture, work-life balance and social issues.
Cons: Not a lot of accountability. People stay for a long time which makes it hard to move up or grow. These same people also become complacent because pensions were offered until 2015 so newer employees are more aggressive in wanting to move up. It's unnecessarily difficult to get a title change. The salaries seem below average.
February 2021
Great opportunities for development, but low pay for top performers.
Product Designer in Charlotte:
Pros: Opportunities for growth
Cons: Trying to be appropriately compensated feels impossible.
December 2020
Product Designer in San Jose:
Toxic management, no career development, political promotion. HR or a team itself dosen't their jobs properly to support and hear their employees. Most of jobs you do here is pleasing HQ to get funding. No exciting or continuous developing work you do.
November 2020
Just OK...no longer the company I used to work for.
Product Designer in Alexander City:
Pros: Still fairly laid-back. I love my boss.
Cons: The owner thinks we are robots; mistakes are not prohibited, and knowledge is no longer of value.
November 2020
An ok place to work but don't expect a raise.
Product Designer in Niagara Falls:
Pros: The work is always challenging.
Cons: Long term employees are not promoted nor are they paid according to their skills.
October 2020
Busy but Determined and Strong.
Product Designer in San Francisco:
Pros: The hard working mindset. The tech forward companies.
Cons: The competition and elitism.
September 2020
I feel like I have autonomy.
Product Designer in New York:
Pros: That I’m trusted to manage my own pipeline and get the work done
Cons: Lack of interaction and collaboration with other peers as I’m the only designer at the moment.
