Personal Support Worker (PSW) Reviews

What is it like working as a Personal Support Worker (PSW)?

November 2016
Be the best you can be.
Personal Support Worker (PSW):
This is such a rewarding career for not only the people U care for but yourself as well.. You get to meet new individuals with different needs every day. When your day is done, and you sit at home, a feeling of completeness and love fills your heart knowing you have made someone's day so much better and their families and at ease. I have a lot of pride in what I do being not everyone can do what we do every single day. We are the front line of care workers and we shine bright!

Making a difference.
Personal Support Worker (PSW):
Pros: I absolutely love spending time with seniors. They have so much to give and tell! I also like giving support to their caregivers both from the community and from the long term care home. If I can make things easier for them offer a hug or helping hand, I love to put a smile on their face. I feel that this is where I need to be, and loving every minute of it!
Cons: I struggle with not having enough time in a day to spend with each and everyone. It always seems to be rush rush rush because at times there's not enough staff and no funding for more.
