Getting things in writing.
Parts Manager in Taylor:
Make sure you get any agreements in writing or recorded. I got promised alot of things to come on board here and they have always gotten pushed off, or other new hires have gotten them but I haven't due to the excuse of "I wasn't there when the other guy hired you and there is nothing in writing" it's very frustrating trying to push for thing's on my review times other people are getting when they get hired. Make it easy on yourself and get things you wheel and deal for upon being hired someplace in writing or recorded. Everyday is stressful when building a new parts department from scratch in the aggregate industry, everything is trial and error, parts are never correct in manuals, customers always need it yesterday. Study the manuals and physically go out and look at the equipment, watch the mechanics fix things or help them and learn that way, helps alot when customers are calling and talking to you about what they are dealing with, it makes it easier to relate and help them.
