Make sure that when you discuss the details of your employment that you put everything down on paper and do not take their word for it no matter how nice and honest they might seem. Do not do anything more then what your job is, because the more you do the more they want.
I'm sure that there are better and more organized companies out there.
I was hired to take the lead on sales and now I find myself doing all the sales, project managing all the jobs, supervising our welders, purchasing materials, collecting overdue accounts, picking up materials and supplies. I basically run the business as if it was my own.
I owned and operated my own business in the same field, before selling it; and I can honestly say that I did not have the stress that I do now.
The worst part is that the owners and managers do not appreciate what I do for them, and as soon as the see I'm making a large commission on a large project they try cutting back my commission.
