Being an office manager.
Office Manager:
As an office manager you have to know going in that not every day is going to be the same. You will come in with a plan to get certain items off your plate, and you can still do that but you may have to move around your schedule as you never know when you'll be terminating an employee or have something else come up. As the OM you are actually supporting all the staff in some capacity.
Be open to change, and be willing to be flexible with people as you'll get better performance from a person who feels like they are being valued.
Also, in a world with a lot of "Big Titles" know that sometimes being the office manager is not a popular gig and it can be thankless at times.
