Pros: In the core of the company and what holds all the departments/divisions together towards one goal.
Cons: When the sales are doing great a marketing department is rarely congratulated. When the sales go down, marketing is the first to be blamed. This is why it is crucial to have measurable KPI's to be able to judge well the performance of the department.
