What is it like working as a Marketing & Business Development Manager?

November 2017
Things I wish I knew.
Marketing & Business Development Manager in Cape Town:
I have to have my finger on many pulses, be ready to pounce on fund raising opportunities, be prepared to sacrifice weekends, work long hours and get very little reward. Business growth depends on Marketing strategies.
Marketing & Business Development Manager:
Pros: - Association with influencers. - High engagement with creative people. - Avoiding a fixated-mindset. - Growing a business in many different forms that has never been troed before. - Admire artists, which I am in contact with a lot! - Using other
Cons: Developing needs a lot of time and enegry, but because it is happening mostly over a computer it is downgraded and it doesn't pay much. At least in my current company. Digital marketing is a critical factor in any company, big or small, although not many employers willig to pay more attention to social media and digital markets.
