What is it like working as a Management Consultant?
June 2015
Get into a good company not Vertebrand.
Management Consultant:
Pros: #NAME?
Cons: -Confusing Job Roles. Constantly changing work structure. What you are hired to do and what you end up doing is never in line. This happens in most places and I am aware of it, but I have never seen it happen to this level.

Lots of work. Not much in return.
Management Consultant:
Pros: Some clients are fun. Clients will typically allow the consultants to participate in their ordeals.
Cons: Travel travel travel. It's fun for a while but it really wears you down after a while. Most people stay in this field a few years and jump ship. Bonuses may be paid to keep you around but my advice get out after a few years.

A Good Firm for Tech-Oriented People.
Management Consultant:
Pros: Good people, generally, though the people are often tied to the work environment of the client. Typically will pay a bit of a premium for new hires, but don't expect much in the way of raises or bonuses except on promotion or if you're rated in the top 10%--and sometimes it still isn't much.
Cons: The work is very tech-oriented for management consulting. Most of the programs have a tech angle. It's also difficult to find a good role unless you get lucky. I've gotten lucky, but I've seen others flail.
November 2014
Management Consultant:
Pros: Salary.
Exposure.
Cons: Travel takes a toll on your family life.
Not employee friendly.
Lack of expertise in the middle tier.
January 2014
Cross Functional And Cross Geography Exposure.
Management Consultant:
Pros: 1. Ability to tap into global network of highly skilled resources.
2. Leading clients with complex business problems.
3. Exposure to leading business models and first hand experience.
Cons: Strong tilt towards technological projects in consulting and managing work space.
December 2013
Management Consultant:
Pros: Variety, exposure to high level issues, smart colleagues.
Cons: No control over type of project you get staffed on, which mean you can end up specializing in a niche that you do not enjoy. Pressure to meet billable targets, always having 3 bosses (internal, project manager and client) can be very stressful.
October 2013
Corporate Culture, Flexibility,
Management Consultant:
Pros: You can do almost what you want to gain utilisation
Cons: You cannot drive sales - you are dependent on others to open doors to work
It's tough on the bench.
