Cons: -Confusing Job Roles. Constantly changing work structure. What you are hired to do and what you end up doing is never in line. This happens in most places and I am aware of it, but I have never seen it happen to this level. Peopl are shifted from NBD to

Lots of work. Not much in return.
Management Consultant:
Pros: Some clients are fun. Clients will typically allow the consultants to participate in their ordeals.
Cons: Travel travel travel. It's fun for a while but it really wears you down after a while. Most people stay in this field a few years and jump ship. Bonuses may be paid to keep you around but my advice get out after a few years.

A Good Firm for Tech-Oriented People.
Management Consultant:
Pros: Good people, generally, though the people are often tied to the work environment of the client. Typically will pay a bit of a premium for new hires, but don't expect much in the way of raises or bonuses except on promotion or if you're rated in the top 10%--and sometimes it still isn't much.
Cons: The work is very tech-oriented for management consulting. Most of the programs have a tech angle. It's also difficult to find a good role unless you get lucky. I've gotten lucky, but I've seen others flail.

Cons: Travel takes a toll on your family life. Not employee friendly. Lack of expertise in the middle tier.

Pros: 1. Ability to tap into global network of highly skilled resources. 2. Leading clients with complex business problems. 3. Exposure to leading business models and first hand experience.
Cons: Strong tilt towards technological projects in consulting and managing work space.

Management Consultant:
Pros: Variety, exposure to high level issues, smart colleagues.
Cons: No control over type of project you get staffed on, which mean you can end up specializing in a niche that you do not enjoy. Pressure to meet billable targets, always having 3 bosses (internal, project manager and client) can be very stressful.

Pros: You can do almost what you want to gain utilisation
Cons: You cannot drive sales - you are dependent on others to open doors to work It's tough on the bench.
