Graphic Designer:
Pros: Creative Designs!! My role in this job is to design a complete ad based on the requirements of the client and their satisfication! Responsibilities are to deliver On-time/ Proof Read /Quality Check of my own designs!!
Cons: The Extended shift and limitations of some ad designs which doesn't fall in artistic direction on just undergo with the layout have to be followed!1.

It's a creative role that can be rewarding if right company.
Graphic Designer:
Pros: Creative,
Learning new things all the time.
Problem solving design dilemmas.
Seeing what u can create from scratch or minimal direction.
Working in a creative environment with like minded people.
Cons: The LOW pay.
Having to contact already disgruntled client because of poor sales advice.
Chasing client who are unresponsive.
High pressure for reaching performance targets when it is luck of the draw with clients response.
High pressure with print deadlines.
Assumptions from everyone who isn't a designer assuming that what we do is easy and can be done as quick as writing an email!
My particular workplace seems to be ok with sales reps being underhanded with clients duping them into a no cancel contract - we then have to deal with angry and uncooperative clients.
They are also all about numbers and not quality of work often allowing sub standard work to go through while I spend extra time making it good.

Advise from long-time experience at one job.
Graphic Designer:
Keep organized and focus on the details. Try to make your project the best it can be even if the customer isn't fussy. Customers appreciate the extra effort and you making suggestions about how their project can be improved. Learn to multi-task but be able to realize when you need to concentrate on one think more than the other. Always double check your final product.
