Financial Analyst Reviews
What is it like working as a Financial Analyst?
October 2020
Lots of learning experience but long hours.
Financial Analyst in Singapore:
Pros: Lots of new exposures, being the pioneers of establishing processes
Cons: Long work hours as a result of above
September 2020
Great Commute but Limited Opportunities.
Financial Analyst in Tacoma:
Pros: Less commute compared with going to Seattle.
Cons: Not a whole lot of opportunities to choose from when thinking about changing a job.
September 2020
Financial Analyst.
Financial Analyst in Chicago:
Pros: I really like the environment: culture, people, and purpose. I think from my perspective the Commercial CFO Rahul Nalgirkar is genuinely interested in the success of his employees. He does a great job of identifying talent, learning opportunities, team engagement, and managing the business. I think the talent portion is key, as I've been challenged but it's always great to know you're working with really smart, kind, and compassionate individuals.
Cons: Not specific to Fifth Third as working in any bank has a bad connotation since the last downturn. Also typical in finance roles, we can experience stressful workloads during busy times (close, forecast, earnings, planning), and the sensitivity of the material can sometimes involve uncomfortable discussions.
August 2020
Great place to learn from.
Financial Analyst in Richmond:
Pros: I enjoy most of the people I work with.
Cons: The lack of attention from administrators. Overlooking key areas for improvement and they seek out Doing something new for the sake of being new but not innovation!
July 2020
Overall, a good place to be.
Financial Analyst in Philadelphia:
Pros: Teamwork, solving problems together, sense of mission.
Cons: Politics, slow procedures, out of date systems.
July 2020
Learning to be mentally tough.
Financial Analyst in Valliant:
Pros: Learning to be mentally tough
Cons: There is no process to pass technical knowledge to new workers, and there is going to be a massive brain drain in the next 5-10 years.
June 2020
Old school, sometimes negatively.
Financial Analyst in Washington:
Pros: Freedom within my job, trust to perform cross-functional tasks, non-monotonous
Cons: Leadership lacks cohesion, resists change at all costs, horrible communication
