Pros: Fast learning experience, meeting the right people, being groomed for the top.
Cons: Having to bend backward for someone even when you don't believe in their vision, being always in the shadows when you did all the work.

It's a good idea to have an open communication with your boss from day one. If you don't start then, it will make the job more difficult going forward. Also, find out just what decisions are yours to make and what ones only your boss can make.

Familiarize yourself with constant new technology to be ahead of the curve and learn how to implement to your task.

Major non profit companies might be better off salary wise. Don't work for a local non profit, it's nothing but worrying about having a job from week to week and whether or not you will be paid for the week you just worked.
