High Demand - Fast Paced - Exciting - Always Different.

Boring And Busy.
Executive Assistant:
Pros: I work for a lot of different people, not just one partner so that keeps it a little more interesting. I have varied responsibilities.
Cons: The work itself is tedious and boring, nothing interesting about clicking a mouse and typing the same things over and over (tax return and financial statement processing).

The Politics Of Inequality Within A Law Firm.
Executive Assistant:
Learn to delegate or ask for help if you are overloaded. Do not let stress get to you by trying to do everything and please everyone. You cannot be an expert at one thing if you have too many things on your plate.
June 2014
Ask More Probing Questions About The Executive.
Executive Assistant:
Ask about their style, temperament, management of staff under pressure, consistency, how they behave when negotiating. If I had the opportunity to get more honest answers to these questions, I would have been in a better position to evaluate the job offer.
June 2014
Never Stop Studying.
Executive Assistant:
Give more, pay attention, know all there is to know and don't stop studying. Try to know enough to help and assist when your Manager isn't around or needs your help.
June 2014
Networking With People From Different Areas/Depts/Companies.
Executive Assistant:
Pros: Making a difference in peoples lives and also making their lives easy too.
Cons: Everyone can be too demanding :( You cannot please everyone.
