Strong individual with an accurate eye for detail.

I would advise a potential candidate for this line of work to be good in maths and physics and technical drawing, as the job entails vast technical analysis of infrastructure development. An individual must be a thinker, team player willing to put in extra hours to advance in this field.

A Lot Of Stress, Time Away From Home And Low Pay.
Engineering Technician:
Worked at my company for 8 years and have to maintain several certifications and oversee construction work for conformance with project specifications. I have to test concrete, building footings, soils, asphalt, CABC stone, bridge coatings. I have to inspect masonry, rebar placement, steel repair, excavations, pipe placement, fill placement. I have to closely document all work done by others in addition to myself. All this and I've meet masonry laborers that make several dollars more than myself and all they do is move mortar from one place to another.
