Research employment opportunities in a privately owned company. Investigate company succession plans to see growth opportunities/expansion plan, profit sharing or company share options.
Request clear and defined list of responsibilities, the role "Director of Operations" can become a melting pot of responsibilities. This melting pot can and most likely will result in your position expanding without a title change. I.E. Director of Marketing, Merchandising, Store Design / Construction, Budget Management, HR Management, Inventory Management, Recruitment Specialist, Training and Development.
Negotiate; training time and allowance, review of responsibilities every 24 months with compensation/benefit and vacation review to be negotiated at this time.
