Diesel Technician Reviews

What is it like working as a Diesel Technician?

November 2022
Challenging but self-gratification.
Diesel Technician in Rockwall:
Pros: Opportunity to expand my knowledge in my field job and management skills
Cons: Over excessive working hours.
July 2022
It was a great place to retire but maybe not so much anymore.
Diesel Technician in Chino:
Pros: There's a lot to learn from a lot of people
Cons: Favoritism is insane. People will be promoted based on favoritism alone and not upon skill base. The yard I'm currently at has been on mandatory over time for the past 6 months because they refuse to hire more people. We have the oldest equipment compared to other locations and we are treated like trash and forgotten about.
March 2022
Love this place, grew up here, but the pay isn't great in my line of work.
Diesel Technician in Morgan City:
Pros: The people, the location
Cons: Difficult to make a comfortable living without relocating and not much drive from employers to help employees move up or do better financially
January 2022
Fargo is cold in the winter. Nice in the summer. Not a very busy town.
Diesel Technician in Fargo:
Pros: The people that live here are nice overall.
Cons: The winters are brutal. Depressing place that time of the year. College drinking town. Very quiet town.
July 2021
I've gotten Valley Fever twice since working there.
Diesel Technician in Arvin:
Pros: Not as hot as Bakersfield and not as cold as Tehachapi
Cons: Valley Fever
June 2021
You can never do enough.
Diesel Technician in Carlisle:
Pros: Relaxed atmosphere
Cons: Lack of communication from higher ups and everyone below and poor management
May 2021
It's not a bright future kind of place.
Diesel Technician in Cañon City:
Pros: It's an easy commute
Cons: Everyone in town has an old school mentality. Seems like no one who runs their own ( automotive shops esp) Is keeping up with technology or what the average pay rate is! Even in other parts of the state, let alone nationally.
