Don't Become Complacent.
Dental Hygienist:
If you continue to get raises within the first 5-6 years you will hit the ceiling for wages. Doctors typically do not like to give raises beyond a certain point. Negotiate vacation packages and 401K and other benefits to compensate.
Consider that you will have a short career working full time. Working as a dental hygienist is an ergonomic nightmare. When you were warned about injuries in college it is no joke. I have been working as a hygienist for 10 years and every senior hygienist that works full time (and does a great job) has some form of work related injury. We do not get scheduled breaks. Consider working part time for career longevity. It's a great occupation, however, very hard on your body.
Be proactive in continuing your education after graduation. Everything changes in the medical world. We are always advancing. It is up to us to stay abreast of the latest technology. The doctors will know if you are no longer on board and are stuck in the stone age.
