Construction Superintendent Reviews
What is it like working as a Construction Superintendent?
July 2015
Give it your all.
Construction Superintendent:
Work ethic is most important, give as much of your time and mentoring young carpenters!
April 2015
"It is always now"
Construction Superintendent:
-Don't expect anyone to do anything they're supposed to do; the way they're supposed to do it, without supervision...especially if it will impact you. That goes for co-workers, trade partners, supervisors, inspectors and everybody in between.
-Don't all
January 2015
Education and Experience.
Construction Superintendent:
Safety is paramount. A clean site is a productive site. Be fair but firm. Get as much education as possible, go to night school is need be. Pay close attention to what is happening and ask a lot of questions. Master something "NEW" everyday. Get Certified, preferably a Gold Seal through the Canadian Construction Association. Plan ahead and go into detail. Review drawings, specifications and contract scope of work well in advance. Check drawings and especially dimensions. It is better to change a line on the drawing than to cut and core concrete. Be mindful of costs and productivity. Try to provide 3 solutions to every challenge.
October 2014
How much I would interact with the customer.
Construction Superintendent:
Make sure to listen carefully to customer concerns.
October 2014
A professor can not teach what experience CAN.
Construction Superintendent:

August 2014
Know What You Are Getting Into.
Construction Superintendent:
Make sure you make your contract for the amount you are prepared to live with for a while.
May 2014
Cover yourself.
Construction Superintendent:
Don't expect others on your team to support you.
