Communications Officer Reviews

What is it like working as a Communications Officer?

March 2015
Communications Officer:
Pros: It's flexible and there are a variety of different projects to work on. My team is incredible and I feel supported while still remaining autonomous.
Cons: There is nothing bad about my job.
June 2014
Interesting.
Communications Officer:
Pros: Meeting new people in diverse environments.
Cons: Too much work.
May 2014
Communications Officer:
Pros: The best part is having to interact with different people on a daily basis. I enjoy handling media queries. Doing presentations is also a great part of my job as you get to travel and meet exciting new people while also trying your best to market the organisation. Being the Editor in Chief of the internal newsletter is also a highlight for me.
Cons: The pressure of dealing with difficult people from the media can sometimes be a bit much, though its nothing I cant handle. Internal politics can make it very difficult to carry out internal communications' tasks.
March 2014
Medium Stress, High Workload At Times.
Communications Officer:
Pros: Getting to know/be involved in lots of different things, and sharing good work with others.
Cons: Writing/editing reports; trying to please lots of different people/institutions in what gets publicized and how.
