Chief Operating Officer (COO) Reviews

What is it like working as a Chief Operating Officer (COO)?

November 2016
Great.
Chief Operating Officer (COO):
Pros: Managing People and selling. I thrive off fast paced environments and helping people.
Cons: Feels like a start up, trying to manage implementing new processes whilst managing client relationships and sales.
October 2016
Trust your gut.
Chief Operating Officer (COO):
Too often operations managers want all the facts before they decide. 95% of the time one cannot wait for all the facts - when you have heard enough to have the "ah-ha" moment, then you can make a decision.
May 2016
Human Resource.
Chief Operating Officer (COO):
More education on how to handle company human resource issues and company morale key in production.
April 2016
The speed of going slow...
Chief Operating Officer (COO):
Building a career takes time.
February 2016
Joys of a COO.
Chief Operating Officer (COO):
Pros: Strategic thinking - be in front of the pack. People management - conflict resolution. Coaching - mentorship.
Cons: Being supervised and micro managed. Not being valued for what I bring to the company - that is just the boss, and not something that should happen. Turning the company around and that is taken for granted.
December 2015
COO at New York Based Startup.
Chief Operating Officer (COO):
Pros: I enjoy being able to create something new from the ground up. The environment is exciting and my colleagues and staff are amazing.
Cons: If you've never done it, developing an app can be very stressful and disorganized. The debugging process takes a long time and communication is an issue, especially if you outsource development overseas. It's best to have a part time developer or intern in house to make sure everything goes smoothly with the development company. They will be able to tell you if something isn't right with the process.
October 2015
That it would take over my life and cause me to lose time.
Chief Operating Officer (COO):
Do your job and go home.
