Be Prepared.
Administrative Assistant:
Be ready for the slow progress of implementation and the strong protective attitude many government employees hold. Interdepartmental co-operation, creative thinking and independent decision-making are not the norm and you really need to work on quiet alliance building. You may need to keep your head down out of the cross-fire of office politics, but tact, patience and commitment will go a long way to keeping down your stress levels and managing up.
