State Government Not So Peachy.
Administrative Assistant:
This type of job is easier to advance in in the private sector. If you choose to take a job like this with the state government, plan to stay in that position without a raise or promotion for quite sometime until you have X-amount of years of experience in that specific field or you've obtained specialty training such as IT or management courses that would allow you move around in your organization.

Treat Everyone The Same.
Administrative Assistant:
With today's technology, news (good or bad) and reputations travel 'uber' fast so treat everyone you come into contact with the same level of respect. Be patient when explaining things or learning things - everyone has different levels of understanding. Always treat your clients, bosses, co-workers, guests kindly. You never know who they know.
