Accounts Assistant Reviews

What is it like working as an Accounts Assistant?

October 2013
Love paperwork
Accounts Assistant:
You need to be organised and have attention to detail. Try to figure out whether you are the only one responsible for the posting of items on the ledgers. In my current place of work i'm not and it can be frustrating at times - chasing your tail for items that other people have posted. You need to enjoy working to deadlines ie Month ends when you might spend days chasing outstanding invoices/credit notes. Good communication skills and willingness to learn are also good. As well as computer skills - accountancy packages and Microsoft Excel

Good family company. Friendly atmosphere
Accounts Assistant:
Pros: Friendly atmosphere. Small departments. Casual dress code. I feel like an important member of the pontis family.
Cons: The commute to work. The little amount of time spent visiting the restaurants to get to know the practical side of the company
