What is it like working at Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT)?
Software Engineer / Developer / Programmer:
Horrible Managers who are basically running departments like a Snake's Den.
They hire only who they like (family or friends, collusion and Nepotism I rampant). This place is plagued with incompetant middle managers trying to survive with any form of "optics" possible.
They also have NAIT's marketing department come and clean the ratings off the online portals so that they dont shun away new hires by the reality.
They do not know how to hire competent managers at all. You would be very very lucky if you are hired under a competent manager. And it is because they just push the lower ranked people to hire ranks even though they were completely awful at their job.
Supervisors and Managers are both known for bullying. The HR knows this and is "in bed" with the managers and executives of the company. Hence anyone who tries to complain about their abuse is most likely fired before any drama happens.
The students this place attracts are mostly Trade workers who smoke and swear constantly in the hallways. This also include the instructors who are also from Trades.
Good place to retire or work if you cannot get a job anywhere in Alberta or Canada.
