Johnson Controls Inc Reviews

What is it like working at Johnson Controls Inc?

Security is an illusion, or a nightmare.
Security Analyst in Milwaukee:
Pros: Challenging environment often referred to as “sink or swim”.
Cons: Management. Reward goes to the buddy and not the person who deserves it. It resembles a private society. Lack of accountability and transparency. Promoting by social compatibility (being liked and popular). Constant excuses by leaders, however not an option to be used by the work ants. Held to the highest possible excellence standard with very little support. Systems misconfigured and not reliable. Skeleton crews throughout the business, all areas of business except sales. There’s so much more wrong with Johnson Controls but pick something and I can guarantee that it’s going on here. Every since Tyco acquisition, this company became GARBAGE. Do not recommend working for them, unless you’re into agony and abuse.
You are on your own.
Software Engineer in Gurgaon:
Pros: Learning Opportunities (with a hint of great politics)
Cons: Favoritism among Employees
Working at Johnson controls is like being your own boss.
HVAC Service Technician in Appleton:
Pros: The flexibility in my schedule and the work at your own pace atmosphere along with building direct relationships with our customers is fantastic!
Cons: I dislike nothing about working for Johnson controls
Solving problems all day long!
Contract Administrator in New York:
Pros: I like the challenges I face on a day to day basis and figuring out how to resolve problems given the resources I have. I like the autonomy I've been given to figure out how I can best help, rather than being micromanaged.
Cons: I feel like I'm a valued employee, except on paydays. I provide the work of someone in the Legal department, but I only get paid for the work of an Admin. Everything all the time always revolves around making sure the shareholders receive a dividend this quarter, and I feel like I spend my time making the boss rich, and I do not feel like I am contributing anything useful to society.
Little direction means a lot of freedom, if anyone will fund your project.
UX Researcher in Milwaukee:
Pros: For the most part, I’m free to do my work as I see fit.
Cons: Lack of company direction, constantly changing executives, poor budget and sales planning.
Overworked and Underpayed.
Business Development Manager in New York:
Pros: My Team - Northeast National Sales Team
Cons: JCI is very shareholder driven. Not employee focused
Fulfilling as it is Challenging.
Fire Alarm Technician in Stevens Point:
Pros: Opportunity to work on a variety of equipment. Everyone is very helpful.
Cons: The organization and resources can be difficult to navigate.
