International Business Machines (IBM) Corp. Reviews
What is it like working at International Business Machines (IBM) Corp.?
Shareholder / management focused, losing technical leadership.
Software Engineer in New York:
Pros: My team gets to work on high impact projects that frequently get published / make the news. The CEO is aware of our efforts.
Cons: Total compensation / incentives is predominantly below market - base salary can be at the market depending on group
No future.
Compliance Specialist in Crystal Lake:
Pros: Teammates
Cons: No raises or bonuses
Operations Manager in Raleigh:
No leadership in my business unit... They put saving money first and not staff in my business unit. I was told that this business unit offers autonomy the culture is more of a micro management which is toxic.
Very Stressful and very busy...
Account Executive in Raleigh-Durham:
Pros: Flexible work schedule and work life balance
Cons: Pay Scale... and being laid off..
A good job being whittled away by bureaucracy.
Field Service Technician in Boulder:
Pros: I get to work with large and complex systems, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining them in a data center environment. Tackling complicated technical issues and solving problems gives me a lot of satisfaction.
Cons: The overgrown bureaucracy has made providing quality support nearly impossible. A 75% reduction in my team alone has left those of us remaining to worry about our jobs while trying to juggle the workload of a much larger team. Morale is low and stress is high, which makes enjoying the better parts of the job difficult, at best.
Extremly Taxing Employment.
Development Operations (DevOps) Engineer in Columbus:
Pros: Casual attire, some flexibility in hours and telecommuting
Cons: Workload, especially while on-call.
It is great, very flexible and I am encouraged to keep learning and working toward goals I make.
SAP Consultant in Halifax:
Pros: It allows me to keep up to date with new technology and certifications to better my career.
Cons: A lot of the systems are in place are great but seem much better on paper rather than in practice.
