What is it like working at GlaxoSmithKline?

Lovely company, environment and people but terrible pay.
Research Scientist in Stevenage:
Pros: The environment and people working with me
Cons: the salary is the least appreciated for the work and experience
Stressful. More and more scientist are leaving and not being replaced. There is not as much value placed on lab based scientists. If you can get out of the lab you may go far in a short amount of time.

Pros: Flexible work schedule.
Cons: No levels for promotions. No motivation for career progression. Scientist in same position for 10,15 20 years although responsible grows and grows.
Not wonderful .......no transparency with where we are headed.

Pros: GSK truly takes care of their employees. They offer a lot of support and resources to employees to care for themselves and their families.
Cons: There are many different HR “departments” that handle employee issues/policies/concerns, communication can be confusing.

Cons: Sometimes there's a bit of pressure to be accurate and efficient, more than one can expect
