Be Aware Of What You're Getting Into.
Customer Service Manager:
I wish I would have known all of the responsibilities that could be thrown at me. Since I've started, I've been given more and more tasks and "hats" to wear. I feel like I'm doing 3 full time jobs in one. I am the Customer Service Manager: I create the schedule for out retail store employees, take all calls and emails from customers and vendors, maintain a small retail storefront, place phone orders for customers. I am a Product Buyer: I create future orders and submit to our manufacturer representatives, I create spreadsheets of all orders coming in, I make adjustments to orders as requested by owner, all while on a time limit. I am also a Personal Assistant at time, completing tasks for the owner on occasion.
I have great customer service skills that I use daily, and they've gotten stronger having this job.
