Average Salary for Metal Fx Employees in South Africa

Pros: I like figuring out what tooling is needed to form a part.

Cons: As a Press Brake Operator you are part engineer, part physical laborer. But you don’t get paid like an engineer.

Pros: I get to listen to music during work. I am also allowed to make my own bend sequences and setups.

Cons: I feel like I'm doing hard metal and physical work for low pay. I like the work but gas station and burger flippers are getting paid as much as me. If I make a mistake I could ruin expensive tooling, or lose a finger. If a deburr worker messes up he needs a bandaid. I just want a little more money that I feel I deserve.
