Making the world a better place while growing professionally!
Web Developer in Eureka:
Pros: First, I like knowing that my work helps non-profits make the world a better place. I also really value the ongoing on-the-job training. The work is professionally challenging -- my immediate supervisor and I are always trying new things and developing a better workflow. I feel that my opinions are heard and valued, but since I'm fairly inexperienced I really appreciate the strong mentoring provided by my supervisor. I also really appreciate that I can work remotely since I live some 350 miles from headquarters :) I think it's amazing that they took me on as an intern when I was entering this career and then transitioned me to a salaried employee. They're nurturing my career and increasing my pay as I become more and more valuable as an employee.
Cons: This is my second career (I was a math teacher for 10 years). It's a bit hard starting over and working my way back up the pay scale as I become more experienced. It's entirely to Rootid's credit that I have this opportunity though, and I appreciate that they're regularly increasing my salary as I learn.
