Utility Locator Reviews
What is it like working as a Utility Locator?
August 2021
Good base pay but as a person with 3 years experience I feel I deserve more than a new hire.
Utility Locator in Aberdeen:
Pros: Freedom
Cons: Micromanagement I feel due to management wanting bonuses
June 2021
A great place to work, close to home.
Utility Locator in Quinton:
Pros: The ability to work alone and work my own daily schedule.
Cons: Stressful Days.
August 2020
Could be better.
Utility Locator in Denton:
Pros: Freedom to work alone and to assist others when needed. Sharing knowledge with new technicians. Knowing how much I am relied on. Being a team member.
Cons: Having to work 60+ hours to live comfortably. My work/life balance is way off. I feel like I have to work twice as hard to be paid less than techs that do far less for other companies. We are a joke in the damage prevention field. For what we do, we should be paid far more.
September 2019
Flexibility.
Utility Locator in Clarksville:
Pros: I personally like the flexibility that comes with this job. It’s a work at your own pace job but of course there is some guidelines, you can’t slack off you still have to earn your pay.
Cons: The hot and cold extremes are about the only complaint I could have and of course everyone wants to get paid more.
September 2019
Finally found a good place.
Utility Locator in Port St. Lucie:
Pros: Outdoor and fresh are getting plenty of exercise
Cons: Out in the hot Florida sun
June 2019
Frustrating, but can be satisfying.
Utility Locator in Kansas City:
Pros: I am part of everything from major projects to 'mom and dad' wanting to plant some flowers
Cons: Training people you know won't make it/stick around longer than 1 year.
April 2019
Boring.
Utility Locator in Raleigh:
Pros: Freedom
Cons: Pay
