Unit Manager Reviews
What is it like working as a Unit Manager?
February 2016
You must have god leadership skills, a high tolerance for st.
Unit Manager:
Nderstand that the people you will be supervising are educated but most have very little soft skills and want to be the boss before they ever learn the job they were hired for. They get bored easy and show little interest in giving the job they are in all they have to offer. Make sure you are ready to supervise this new generation. Get all the training offered in the supervision area. Hang in here you can do it.

June 2015
Service recovery.
Unit Manager:
Pros: I love customer service. My boss explained to me when I first started that my job would consist of a lot of service recovery, which means helping solves and concerns or issues of our patients and their families. I spend my day fixing patient issues making them have a more enjoyable stay while in rehab. I enjoy building up my team of employees to do their job as best they can. I like leading by example and helping problem solve with my nurses and CNAs. I teach them to treat their patients as they would want to be treated or how they would want their parent treated. It's not an easy job, and it has very long stressful days but at the end of the day, I know I've done my best to make my staff and my patients happy.
Cons: It's hectic. It's like babysitting grown adults some days. Sometimes you have that family member or patient that you just can't please. That is frustrating. Sometimes I help my team so much that my own work gets put on hold.
