What is it like working as an Underwriter?

Pros: I get paid.
Cons: I don't get paid enough.

Underwriter:
You'll start at the bottom but if you put in the time and you are any good, with the right attitude you'll get to a good place after a few years. You'll learn on the job and gain experience and if you can show improvement and greater understanding you'll get further than you might think. It's not mega bucks so if that's what you want then underwriting is not your long term plan (go take actuarial exams or become a sales person) but its an interesting and engaging job with financial rewards that will put you at least at a comfortable UK average salary and a good bonus and perks.
