Theatrical Lighting Technician Reviews

What is it like working as a Theatrical Lighting Technician?

December 2019
It is a beautiful and very difficult struggle.
Theatrical Lighting Technician in Phoenix:
Pros: See my werk influence our audience with the shows we build and the conventions we put on as well. Stage werk is fluid and being a part of something greater is always a reward in itself. Though I fear it may the only reward out here.
Cons: Given the cost of living is comparatively low. Our opportunities for shows is limited due to funky local politics that cause entire entertainment boycotts. So though we are largest Latin American population and are the fifth largest metropolitan area in America. We are still just a fly overstate, so we don't get all the touring shows, including rock and roll, and sports. Unfortunately we have a slow period now, Thanksgiving until after New Year's. And then from Graduation to Labor day it's slow as well. Good luck!
