May 2020
Challenging but fulfilling.
Technical Writer in Jacksonville:
Pros: I'm contributing to the healthcare field, helping people around the world, with my expertise in language and writing. I don't need a degree in medicine or science to make a difference in this field.
Cons: Some of the engineers think you know as much as them about the technical components of the devices, so you have to remind them that is not your expertise. Also, busyness is like a wave. Sometimes you have nothing to work on. Sometimes you have four manuals translated in 29 languages (so 116 documents) you are responsible for and the team decides to make a last minute change so you have to send for re-translations for the third time.
May 2020
Challenging and Satisfying.
Technical Writer in Grand Rapids:
Pros: I love the machines and the clarity of documenting how they work step by step. I like the people and that the process creates something new and something tangible.
Cons: Some of the work processes are disorganized and rushed.
