Supplier Quality Engineer.
Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE):
This position can be very time consuming with a lot of travel. The salary can be ok, depending on experiance. Dont make mistakes build strong supplier relationships and show continues improvement.Show savings for the company that exceed your salary. My salary is currently 85,000 yearly no benifits through a staffing firm. I am in charge of the Chicago Metropolitan area and am required to travel at a moments notice. I was told that the company wants to bring me full time with all the benefits and bonus plus profit sharing. They can not seem to be able to get this position approved. I have been there 5 months and my contract is up in 6 months. I am planing on resighning if they do not bring me on fulltime. At this time I will be asking for 100,000 and two weeks paid vacation. There is a lot of stress at times to work remotely with all corp. Departments and suppliers. Keep in mind there is no overtime you may have to get out of bed at 1:00AM to call Europe or get up every day at 4: 00 AM.

Great, If You Love Paperwork And Bureaucracy.
Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE):
Pros: Traveling for supplier audits is nice. That's about it.
Cons: Pretty much everything. The job is 100% paperwork and bureaucracy. You can't do the simplest things without following byzantine and over complicated procedures. Accomplishing minor tasks is next to impossible. The work is unstimulating and about as far from hands-on as you can get.
