Influencer.
Strategic Account Manager:
Understand that you are an influencer not a direct sales person. This was the toughest transition I had. I no longer have direct impact on a customer. I work through and direct sales people. Always stay as close to the customers as you can.

Non-Stop, ever-changing role.
Strategic Account Manager:
Pros: No day is ever the same and you never know what you will walk into. The position is fast paced and you are busy from before you walk in the door until you sleep at night. The position requires strong data analysis mad problem solving skills.
Cons: There is no end to what you may be asked to do. Often times you are so busy you do not have time to really dive into the heart of the issues.

Pros: Freedom, flexibility, performance based bonus, future.
Cons: Pressure, long sales cycle, declining market.
