August 2015
Keep up with new media.
Sr. Editor:
The newspaper and assorted mass media are changing as rapidly as the technology that supports it. Be sure to keep up with those changes and maintain a network of friends and associates in the business. The days of the umbrella structure of newspapers that include and incubate talent are coming to an end. In many ways life in the mass media has become much less tolerant of people who don't produce. So be one who does.

World of scientific editing/writing
Sr. Editor:
Pros: Although I am not directly attach with scientific research which I used to do as a scientist, this job gives me an opportunity to still stay with the current scientific research. Everyday, I get to see a new manuscript on a new research work. I am also actively engaged in medical writing and statistical data analysis required for different medical/clinical research. I hold PhD degree in Chemistry with 3 years of postdoctoral research experience. I have worked in the interdisciplinary field of chemistry and biology. This gives me an advantage both equipped with mathematical skill as well as ability of grasping a new subject.
Most important thing I like in my job is that everyday I have a new subject to learn, which is exciting as a learner.
Cons: We have six days a week (48 hr) job with only 12 days paid vacation and no benefits. Company is a start up company.
